Renate Buber, Academic Director of the Professional MBA-Program Social Management at the Executive Academy of WU.

She is Assistant Professor retd. and former deputy Head of the Institute of Nonprofit Management at WU Vienna and Chair of the Equal Opportunity´s Working Group of WU Vienna. Since 2012 she is serving as a member of the Arbitration Committee of the Vienna University of Technology.

She studied business education (diploma degreee) and social and economic sciences at WU Vienna (doctorate) and psychology at the University of Vienna (first diploma examination). After her graduation she has been working as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Trade Research and the Institute of Marketing at WU Vienna. There, she was a faculty member of the Nonprofit Management Institute from 2009 to 2019.

Since 2020 she has been working as an Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Institute of Nonprofit Management and the Competence Center of Nonprofit Organisations and Social Entrepreneurship of WU Vienna and as a freelancer for Nonprofit Organisations, esp. for cultural organisations.

Her research, teaching and training interests contain nonprofit management, nonprofit marketing management, consumer psychology, arts and culture marketing, retailing in museums, sales psychology in NPOs, organisational behaviour, qualitative social research methodology and qualitative market reserach.

From 2009 to 2012, she represented the WU Vienna and with it Austria in the Consumer Behaviour Erasmus Network COBEREN (Lifelong Learning Program).

Renate´s comprehensive teaching experience stems from numerous courses taught at Austrian universities as well as at universities abroad, such as Gold Coast University (QLD, Australia), Int. Economics University Hanoi (Vietnam), Universitas Gadjah Mada (Yogyakarta, Indonesia), Technical University of Liberec and Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic), Ekonomicka Univerzita V Bratislave - Podnikovohospodarska Fakulta V Kosiciach (Slowakia), University of Maribor (Slowenia), Bauhaus Universität Weimar and TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany. Additionally, she has been a member of the Visiting Faculty of Ramkhamhaeng University Bangkok (Thailand) for many years. For many years, she has been teaching courses in several programs of the Executive Academy at WU Vienna.
