05/02/2025

We are pleased to welcome Dilara Güzel to IMM as a new PhD student and Teaching & Research Associate. Dilara’s research focuses on Consumer Culture Theory, with particular attention to socio-historic patterns of consumption, social class, gender, and immigration. With a strong academic foundation and practical industry experience, she brings a unique perspective to her work. We look forward to her contributions to the institute’s research.

A little about Dilara:

"I recently joined IMM as a Teaching and Research Associate alongside pursuing my PhD. I hold a Master’s degree in Marketing from WU and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. My research focuses on Consumer Culture Theory (CCT)—an interdisciplinary field exploring how socio-economic and cultural factors shape consumers, markets, and society. I am particularly interested in the socio-historic patterning of consumption, with a focus on social class, gender, and immigration.

Before starting my PhD, I gained diverse practical experience across industries, from advertising agencies to start-ups. Most recently, I worked as a Paid Media Manager at a Viennese advertising agency.

Outside of academia, I enjoy cinema, electronic music, and hiking/walking, and above all, I am fascinated by human stories."
