Professor Schlegelmilch was identified as one of the most prolific authors of international marketing articles published during the period 1995-2015.

In an analysis published by Leonidou et al. (2018) in Advances in Global Marketing, Prof. Schlegelmilch was ranked number 12. The analysis provides a systematic review of 1722 international marketing articles in in the top six international business journals.
