WU's doctoral and PhD programs are designed for three years and usually last at least 6 semesters. In the course of your studies you attend courses, take exams and write a dissertation.

There are different possibilities to do a PhD at our institute; either you work as a research & teaching staff member or you do a PhD as an external PhD student (with your own funding).

For a successful admission to a doctoral/PhD program, a preliminary supervision commitment from a WU professor is required. This document must be signed by the WU professor in charge and submitted at the time of admission.
