Two Job Openings: Senior Assistant Professor in Microeconomics and Senior Assistant Professor in Macroeconomics
The Department of Economics is currently inviting applications for two Senior Assistant Professor positions, tenure track
1) Senior Assistant Professor in Microeconomics, tenure track
Fulltime, 40 hours/week
Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, the position of Assistant Professor, tenure track, is limited to an employment period of not more than six years. For this position, a qualification agreement can be considered after a period of two years, pursuant to § 27 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Kollektivvertrag für die ArbeitnehmerInnen der Universitäten). After successful fulfillment of any qualification agreement made, employment can be made permanent. From the perspective of organizational regulations, employees who have successfully completed a qualification agreement are to be classified as full professors.

Your responsibilities
The successful candidate's research focus should be on theoretical or applied microeconomics. He/she will join the faculty of the Department of Economics and is expected to provide a good fit to its current research environment, as well as to cultivate excellence and contribute to the research, teaching, and service activities in the department.
Your profile
Applicants should have
a solid academic qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Economics (or a related field),
high-quality research output (as measured by publications in international peer-reviewed journals) in related to the field of microeconomics,
a commitment to excellence in teaching,
experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects is of advantage, and
ability to enlarge and deepen the network of contacts to the international academic community.
Applicants must either have completed their PhD or doctoral program outside of Austria or must have completed at least one year of documented academic work experience as a post-doctoral researcher outside of Austria. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire knowledge of workable German.

The gross monthly salary is € 3,803.90 (paid 14 times per year).
This employee position will be limited to a period of six years, starting on June 15, 2020 (commencement date subject to change).
