CSBA director Christian Haas held an invited talk on "Computational (Re-)Districting - An Algorithmic Approach to Addressing Policy Questions" at the KSRI of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

On February 21, 2023, CSBA director Christian Haas held an invited talk on "Computational (Re-)Districting - An Algorithmic Approach to Addressing Policy Questions" at the Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The talk focused on computational procedures that can be used to create (voting) districts with specific properties, and highlighted results that showed how such approaches can be used to answer policy questions in the design of (fair) voting districts.

The underlying project is embedded in a long-term collaboration with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU (New York University).
