The Center for Strategic Business Analytics is a multidisciplinary research and teaching platform of the Vienna University of Economics and Business, dedicated to conduct cutting-edge, world-class science in data-driven decision making.

Utilizing the diverse methodological expertise of its members, it facilitates the application of data science techniques for business problems.

Mission Statement

At the Center for Strategic Business Analytics we tackle the methodological and conceptual challenges posed by data-driven applications. We help design better analytical solutions for organizations: evidence-based, data-driven, and transparent. Our goal is to identify the benefits and enhance the positive opportunities of data analytics for effective decision-making, and avoid or mitigate its risks and shortcomings. Our work builds on WU’s world leading expertise in empirical research, quantitative methods, and research on strategy and innovation, management control, and corporate governance.
