We are pleased to welcome David Preinerstorfer as our new Professor of “Statistics and Econometics”.

Before joining WU, David Preinerstorfer was Associate Professor of Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the University of St.Gallen and Director at the Swiss Institute for Empirical Research in Economics. He taught econometrics and statistics in the Bachelor, Master and PhD programs in economics, econometrics and political science and conducted research in econometrics and statistics. Prior to that, he held an assistant professorship at the Universit'e libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, was a post-doctoral fellow at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. David received his doctorate in statistics and operations research at the Department of Statistics at the University of Vienna.

He will start teaching the course Econometrics I in the Bachelor and the course Financial Time Series Analysis (QFin)  in the winter semester 2024/25.
