The Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (SESI) at WU Vienna combines research and practice, taking an interdisciplinary approach to a wide range of relevant topics relating to civil society organisations and social enterprises. High academic standards are just as important to us, as close engagement with the sector. This is achieved through a balanced portfolio of activities: practice-oriented research as well as basic research, regular dialogue with the sector, and active participation in national and international research networks.

As part of our capacity-building approach, we play an active role in developing and strengthening the problem-solving capacity of organisations, institutions and individuals.

Research and Collaborations

We are researching how social impact can be systematically designed, measured and scaled. Our team is dedicated to addressing interdisciplinary issues, with a strong focus on collaboration with partners in the field.

Teaching

SESI is also actively involved in teaching at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. In addition to our focus on social entrepreneurship and social innovation, we also address issues such as leadership and organisational design.
