Gabriele M. Mras has been Univ. Professor of Philosophy at the WU Vienna since 2003. She has held a number of visiting professorships in the USA; at the philosophy department at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 2015, and the philosophy department at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2000, 2001, and in 2011. She taught philosophy, in adition, at the Institute of philosophy at the University of Vienna from 1996 to 2005, and at the AAU Klagenfurt.
She studied philosophy and logistics (mathematical logic) at the LMU Munich and the University of Vienna. She received her Dr. phil in 1990 with a theses in the philosophy of logic and mathematics and received in 2003 the venia docendi in philosophy at the University of Vienna about modern approaches in the theory of knowledge. She recieved numerous fellowships and grants (BMWF, BMUKS, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) has supervised many projects in the philosophy of mind and language (OEAW, AT Nationalbank, FFF Lichtenstein), regularily organizes conferences and was for more than ten years co-editor of Conceptus-Journal of Philosophy (2007-2017).
Gabriele Mras’ more recent publications are "Philosophy of Logic and Mathematics" with P. Weingarten and B. Ritter (DeGruyter 2019), "Wollheim, Wittgenstein, and and Pictorial Representation" with G. Kemp (Routledge 2016), and "Force, Content, and the Unity of the Proposition" with M. Schmitz (Routledge 2021).
