03/12/2019

On December 5th and 6th the Institute for Organization Studies hosts a symposium for University Governance, a project in cooperation with researchers from the Stockholm School of Economics and Stockholm University, funded by Riksbanken Jubileumsfond Sweden. The Institute welcomes Prof. Gili Drori and Prof. Barbara Schachermayer-Sporn as guests. The symposium aims at providing a conduit for discussions of conceptual ideas and working papers.

Project topics concern e.g. the governance of transnational university fields in the case of open access publishing; issue debates around open access and the concept of third mission; field configuring events; as well as the role of intermediary organizations in the field of business school education.

Prof. Barbara Schachermayer-Sporn is head of the Institute for Higher Education Management, Department of Strategy and Innovation, at WU. Her areas of interest combine theories of business and management applied to the complex organization of universities.
