Tobias Polzer, together with colleagues from Germany, Brazil, Italy and the United Kingdom, co-organized the Special Interest Group (SIG) “Accounting and Accountability: Public value(s) accounting and accountability – management and governance in turbulent, post-truth times” at the 2023 edition of the International Research Society for Public Management Conference 2023. The SIG on “Accounting and Accountability” centered its work around the questions of how accounting impacts public officials, decisions and practices, and how it can foster accountability. This year a particular focus was on the role and facets of accounting and accountability surrounding management and governance in turbulent, post-truth times for examining and addressing pressing societal questions in the areas of public value(s).
