Videoproduction
In the FLEX Video Studio you can easily create various video formats without technical support. The products range from lecture videos in front of a green screen to more visually elaborate explainer videos using a lightboard.
You would like to...
... quickly and easily produce a lecture video in studio quality?
There are two recording areas in the FLEX Video Studio, the area with a green screen and the one with a lightboard. Both areas can be used by up to two people for a joint recording in front of the camera.
In the green screen area of the studio you will find a classic studio recording area for the production of lecture videos. The green studio background can be replaced by any virtual background. You can use one of six provided background images for this purpose, or you can also fade in your own background image via the presenter PC. In addition, you have the option of combining screen content and video recording in different ways. Six display options, called presets, are available for this purpose.
You can choose between six presets on the touch panel.
Even during a recording in progress, you can switch between the presets flexibly at any time without interrupting the recording. Please note that you can also pause during a recording. Despite pausing, the result of your recording is a single video.
If you want to additionally edit your video (e.g. cut or enrich it), an editor is available in the Planet eStream media platform. In addition, two powerful computers with the appropriate software are available to you for professional video post-production in the FLEX Lab.
... record an explainer video on the Lightboard?
In the FLEX Video Studio, opposite the green screen area, you will find a second recording area equipped with a lightboard. The lightboard is a glass board on which you write and simultaneously look towards the camera, thus addressing the students directly. This would not be possible on a whiteboard or smartboard, as you would have to turn your back to the students while writing. The illumination of the Lightboard provides a futuristic neon effect to the writing. This format is particularly well suited for presenting quantitative data in the form of charts and tables. In addition, abstract topics can be developed and presented dynamically.
Special chalk pens and cleaning materials are used for writing and drawing on the lightboard. You will find these on site in the Video Studio. Please use only the materials provided!
Please note that you can also pause during a recording. Despite pausing, the result of your recording is always a single video. If you want to additionally edit your video (e.g. cut or enrich it), an editor is available in the Planet eStream media platform. In addition, two powerful computers with the professional post-production software are available to you for professional video post-production in the FLEX Lab.
... use your video in your course?
Your videos will be automatically uploaded to the Planet eStream media platform after recording in the FLEX Video Studio. Please note that the videos are assigned to the person who made the FLEX Video Studio booking via Rooms. Only this person can further edit the video file and share it with other people. You can embed your videos in your course environment in both Canvas and LEARN. Instructions for doing so can be found in the Canvas Guide as well as the LEARN Guide.
... professionally edit your video with special software?
For easy editing of your videos, you can use the Planet eStream media platform editor. For instructions on using Planet eStream, see the Planet eStream WU Guide.
