The City of Baden, the Energy and Environment Agency of Lower Austria (eNu), and Cinema Paradiso hosted the eleventh Climate & Environment Film Days in September 2024. After the screening of the film “Atomkraft forever”, which follows the decommissioning of the Greifswald nuclear power plant, Birgit Hollaus joined Lukas Kranzl (TU Vienna) and Tara Esterl (AIT) on the panel to discuss the (future) role of nuclear energy in the energy transition. Questions from the audience focused the discussion on various aspects of the topic, from securing the necessary resources to (legally) managing environmental and social risks and costs.
