Under the theme "Business Ethics and Sustainability Reporting," respACT invited guests to the CEO Talk on November 28, 2023. More than 50 leaders from the business and academic sectors discussed the current challenges of responsible business practices.

Peter Giffinger, CEO of Saint-Gobain Austria and President of respACT, opened the event: "The discourse around CSR and compliance is highly relevant for Austrian companies. The great interest in today’s event demonstrates the commitment of Austria’s pioneering companies."

Patricia Neumann, CEO of Siemens Austria, emphasized Siemens' mission to contribute to solving the challenges of our time by setting ambitious and clear CSR goals, increasing resource efficiency, driving decarbonization, and adhering to ethical standards. Angelika

Sommer-Hemetsberger, Board Member of ÖKB AG, highlighted the relationship between corporate responsibility and ESG reporting: "ESG provides solid metrics and thus a valuable basis for responsible corporate action. Which of these two concepts is more in focus is secondary - what is central is that companies engage with the positive or negative impacts of their actions."

Albin Hahn, Supervisory Board Member of Josef Manner & Comp AG, pointed out the positive aspects of ESG: "At Manner, we see ESG as an opportunity to prepare ourselves well for the next 130 years. Responsibility always remains at the core of our actions."

André Martinuzzi emphasized in his keynote the links between strategic integration, operational implementation, and transparent reporting: "Ultimately, much depends on whether sustainability and responsibility are 'lived' within a company and incorporated into strategic decisions."
