New Publication on the atypical employment of online platform workers

22/05/2024

As a new field of atypical employment, online platform work is attracting increasing attention. Although debates about the legal status of the (in)self-employment of this work have been ongoing for some time, there is little empirical research on the positions of platform workers. This article offers insights into their desired support tools and employment preferences. The results are based on a quantitative survey (n=1,727) and interviews conducted in a mixed-methods project on online platform work in German-speaking countries.
