Dr. Susan Stewart as Guest at the Institute for Social Policy

Dr. Susan Stewart (National Bureau of Economic Research, Cambridge, Massachusetts) will once again be a guest at the Institute for Social Policy from mid-September 2024 to mid-February 2025. Susan Stewart is a Research Associate at the NBER, where she works with David Cutler in particular on health economics topics. She has been a guest at our Institute several times since (at least) 2013. Over the past 10 years, she has (co-)published on the following topics, among others:

  • Socioeconomic status and expereince of pain

  • socioeconomic gradient in disability insurance receipt

  • satellite account for the US health sector

  • productivity growth in health care for the elderly population between 1999 and 2012

  • effect of public pension programmes on retirement

  • economic crises and mental health

  • behavioural risk factors and health outcomes

One area of research for which a third-party funding application has been submitted (to the NIA) and which could be strengthened concerns economic research on dementia.

During her stay, she will be located on the 1st floor of D4.
