SBWL Entry and Eligibility

To initiate the entry to the SBWL “Responsibility and Sustainability in Global Business”, students must enroll in the course titled "Access to Specialization/Complementary Subject: Responsibility and Sustainability in Global Business". Only students who are registered for this course will be eligible for the entry procedure. It is important that students register within the specified period as indicated with this course offered in the semester they intend to apply for SBWL entry.

Course registration

Upon being assessed as "successfully participated" (refer to LPIS/grades), students become eligible to register for Course 1 and Course 2 within the stipulated registration period. Failure to register for Course 1 within this timeframe will lead to forfeiture of eligibility and loss of their SBWL spot. Admission in subsequent semesters necessitates undergoing the entire entry process anew.

Should available slots remain in the SBWL after the registration period concludes, students will be considered in accordance with the rank order. They will be notified via email and invited to register for Course 1 and Course 2.

All classes of Course 1 and Course 2, respectively, are offered in parallel.

Entry procedure

Entrance to the SBWL consists of two components. Students must furnish a mission statement elucidating how they envisage the SBWL supporting their personal missions. This mission statement contributes 30% to the overall entry score. In addition, students must take an entry exam, which contributes the remaining 70% of the entry score. The cumulative score will determine the ranking of students for access to the SBWL.

  1. Mission statement

  2.

By the deadline indicated with the course "Access to Specialization/Complementary Subject: Responsibility and Sustainability in Global Business", students must upload a four-page mission statement onto Canvas, in Times New Roman 12-point type, using the 8 1⁄2 × 11 page (Letter) setting, and with double-spaced body text. Mission statements must be submitted as PDF documents. Failure to follow these formatting requirements will result in exclusion from mission statements from the entry score. In the same vein, submissions after the deadline will not be considered.

The mission statement should include substantial answers to the following questions:

  1. What is your personal mission? How do you want to generate positive impact in the world?

  2. Which values drive your personal mission, and why?

  3. How do you anticipate the SBWL facilitating the achievement of your personal mission?

  4.

All submissions undergo scrutiny for plagiarism and AI usage. Mission statements must represent original work, reflecting students’ independent thinking. Any submissions identified as plagiarized (i.e., copied from other students or sources) or produced/modified/edited using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, Copilot, Gemini, etc.), whether wholly or partially, will result in immediate exclusion from SBWL entry, irrespective of entry exam scores.
