The master thesis "Bankruptcy Prediction with Machine Learning for European Publicly Traded Companies" by SIMC student Thomas Wolfthaler was awarded the first place of the "Excellence in Financial Leadership Research" prize at the 43rd Austrian Controller Day. The paper, supervised by our colleagues Christian Haas and Jelena Radovanovic, considers the use of machine learning methods to predict bankruptcy events in the European region.
