Institute for Corporate Governance
Teaching and Research Associate (prae doc), Part-time, 30 hours/week
Starting June 01, 2022, and ending after 6 years
As part of the Department of Strategy & Innovation, the Institute for Corporate Governance focuses its research and teaching on issues of effective and efficient corporate governance. The focus is on aspects of corporate governance in a financial market setting, external corporate reporting and its impact on capital markets, the effectiveness of internal control systems, and the impact of incentive systems using quantitative methods (data analytics, machine learning, etc.).
What to expect
One third of the working time is devoted to the scientific training of the position holder with the aim of obtaining a doctorate. In cooperation with the team at the Institute for Corporate Governance and with the guidance of the dissertation supervisor, own research ideas are to be developed and implemented. These ideas are to be presented at international workshops and conferences and published in reputable journals.
Additional Tasks:
Deepening and broadening academic and methodological expertise through participation in the PhD or doctoral program.
Organization of events & conferences
Projects with companies or close cooperation with companies and business organizations
Planning and conducting of lectures
Planning and implementation of research projects in the thematic field of the institute
What you have to offer
Diploma/Master's degree in Business and Economics qualifying for enrollment in a doctoral program at WU
Profound knowledge in the field of accounting or corporate governance or related fields
Proven ability to work scientifically (e.g. outstanding diploma or master thesis) & excellent academic record
Good knowledge of empirical social research/statistical methods (e.g. SPSS, Stata, R) or experience with empirical project work
Very good written and spoken English
Ability to work in a team, enthusiasm, creativity and reliability
Ability to work in a structured and independent manner
High social competence and communication skills
Interest in teaching and research in the field of corporate governance, management or accounting
Experience or at least willingness to use multimedia teaching and learning formats

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to € 2.293,95. This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
