Award for excellent and innovative teaching 2023

The teaching awards for innovative and excellent teaching are presented annually by the Vice-Rector for Academic Programs and Student Affairs and the Austrian Students' Union (ÖH). This year, too, the great commitment and outstanding achievements of the teachers are evident.

Excellent teaching

In the excellent teaching category, 3,879 nominations were submitted this year and 700 teachers were nominated. From the list of the top 49 nominees, the jury had the difficult task of selecting ten award winners. From our department:

Innovative teaching

This year, the innovative teaching award focuses on "Teaching together: Innovative Collaborations and Partnerships." In the award-winning concepts, joint teaching enabled new perspectives for teachers and students: cooperations between teachers, but also between external actors and teachers create added value in the award-winning concepts. We are pleased that the jury was able to award this year's "Innovative Teaching" prize to the following concept from our department out of the nineteen submissions:

  • Elmar Kiesling, Axel Polleres, Alfred Taudes, Christian Haas, und Ronald Hochreiter for the course “Data Science Lab“, Department of Information Systems and Operations Management & Department of Strategy and Innovation & Department of Finance, Accounting and Statistics
