At the 8th. Smart Cities International Conference (SCIC), December 3-4 Robert Müller-Török and Alexander Prosser published a contribution on the Corona Warning App and its rationale. The contribution will be published as journal paper in 2021 and then added on this page as well. Here link to the Slides. The Key Points:

• The Apps are statistically irrelevant covering only a few percent of social contacts even with millions of app downloads.

• The risk group of elderly people shows a considerably lower smartphone usage than other age groups.

• Release of a positive test result in the app is optional.

On the other hand, concepts as implemented in Taiwan or South Korea proved to be more effective.
