About

Laura Hackl, BA MA, is a university assistant (prae doc) at the Institute for Communication Management and Media at the Department of Business Communication. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media and Communication Science and a Master of Arts in Journalism and Communication Studies at the University of Vienna. During her studies, in addition to excursions in journalism, she worked as a teaching and research assistant and tutor at the Department of Communication at the University of Vienna. As part of her work at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, she researches and teaches investor relations and financial communication.

Research Interests

Laura Hackl's research interests include investor relations and financial communication, especially concerning the implementation of digital tools and media in investor relations, as well as the information processing of private investors. She also focuses on the development of investor relations as a research and practice discipline and the relationship between communication science/PR and investor relations. Her other research interests and previous research include studies on toxic online communication and other topics of strategic communication (e.g., employer branding, communication of diversity and inclusion). In her research, she applies empirical methods (e.g., experiments, surveys, bibliometrics).
